- Pacific Safety Products Inc. was founded in 1984 by Brad and Lori Field, with its primary product line of medical kits manufactured under the name of Pacific Emergency Products®

Pacific Emergency Products® (PEP) designs and manufactures modular kits for transporting emergency medical supplies. Products are sold worldwide and have achieved some notoriety in popular movies such as “Goldeneye” and “Terminator 3”. The kits are also seen on television shows such as “ER”, “The X-Files” and “Earth II “on a regular basis.
1991
- The Company entered the body armour industry in 1991 in response to United States paramedics' requests for protection against potential bullet and knife threats. Under the brand Pacific Body Armour.
1994
- In 1994 the two companies amalgamated into Pacific Safety Products Inc.
1995
- On March 17,1995, the Company was listed on the Alberta Stock Exchange (ASE), trading under the symbol PSP. The ASE changed to the CDNX, and then to the TSX Venture Exchange where the Company continues to trade.
- On August 27, 1995 vests manufactured by Pacific Body Armour were instrumental in saving two officers caught in crossfire during an armed incident at Gustafsen Lake in the interior of B.C. These officers became the first members of PSP’s “Survivors Club”.
1997-2000
- PSP purchased its two major Canadian body armour competitors,becoming the largest Body Armour manufacturer in Canada.
Canadian Body Armour Ltd. was purchased in March 1997 and AEGIS Engineered Textile Products Inc. in September 2000. All of PSP's armor brands have been consolidated and are sold under the brand name PROTECTED by PSP™
2002
- PSP’s sales in fiscal 2002 reached an all time high of $19.33 million.
2004
- PSP was awarded a $21.6 million order for Fragmentation Protective Vests for the Department of National Defence in March 2004.
- August 2004 PSP is awarded the Horizon One contract for chemical warfare protective coveralls in the amount of $28 million with the Department of National Defence.
- These two large contracts created a record order book of between $46 - $57 million, dependant on the crown exercising its options to purchase the full amount of the contracts.
- In September 2004 a Private placement with Acumen Capital for 4 million units, raised $2.8 million with a further potential for $1.7 million if the 2 million warrants are exercised.. Shares were purchased at $.70 and warrants exercisable at $.85
2005
- A second Private Placement with Acumen Capital in January 2005 for 1.75 million units, raised $4.8 million with a further potential for $3.2 million if 875,000 warrants are exercised. Shares were purchased at $2.75 and warrants exercisable at $3.75.
- In March 2005 the Canadian Military increased the amount of the Fragmentation Protective Vest contact by $2.6 million.
- April 2005 - PSP was the recipient of the " Innovative Organization of the Year" award at the Silicon Vineyard Innovation Awards through the Okanagan Science & Technology Council
. Brad Field also received the" Innovator of the Year" award at this event.
- In May 2005
Gerald Bush was named Chief Operating Officer for PSP's Canadian operations.
- In August 2005, a reorganization of executive management took place with David Scott appointed as Chief Executive Officer.
- Gerry Bush was appointed as President in November 2005 and continues in his role as Chief Operating Officer, Valerie Dougans was appointed as Chief Financial Officer.
2006
- In February 2006 the Canadian Military increased their order for Fragmentation Protection Vests by a futher $5.8 million.
- PSP introduces two new state of the art concealable body armor systems, Sigma Six™ and Delta Five™ along with an online sizing program, ProFit™.
- On April 30, 2006 founder, Brad Field retired from PSP after over 22 years.
- In June PSP announced that it would be opening a manufacturing facility in Dover, Tennessee.
- In September Sentry Armor Systems Inc. held a grand opening.
2007
- PSP acquired the assets of Gator Hawk Armor, Inc. of Ventura, California. Gator Hawk is a well established provider of soft armor products to State, Country and local Law Enforcement agencies in the United States.
2008
- PSP launches its GH Brand of Protective Products for the US Law Enforcement Market. This enhanced product line combines the best of Sentry and Gator Hawk designs which will be marketed under the new brand ‘GH Armor Systems’.
