Disposal of Expired Ballistic Soft Body Armour
PSP decommissions/disposes of, at a nominal fee to the client, all surplus SBA panels by quartering the front and rear panels of every SBA, on an appropriate cutting instrument for the purpose of rendering the material both unsuitable and unusable in any future manufacture of SBA panels or SBA component parts. PSP then provides the decommissioned SBA pieces for recycled use by a third party in the manufacture of an unrelated commodity such as tires and belts.
Surplus SBA, provided to PSP for disposal, must be clean, dry and free of contaminants that may create a health and safety concern. Contaminants would include but not be limited to blood, chemicals, mould, mildew and fungus, POL’s (gas, oil and petroleum products). All panels are to be removed from their carriers. No carriers or plates are to be included in the shipments.
